Wacky hat lunch

On the 17th December we had our famous wacky hat lunch!
It was very exciting and funny, everyone really enjoyed themselves.  The main theme to a wacky hat lunch is to make a wacky hat in which you have to eat a roast dinner.  It was very funny, and the food was delcious in a fact it had the best roast potatoes ever.
Some of the hats were really funny like someone had a hat which was made out of a football, and one was made out of crackers. Some of the most memorable moments where when Mr Carson asked pupils what they thought of their teacher and how they had liked their year so far!

At the wacky hat lunch there were partypoppers and crackers! It was a great time and we all loved it!

VE DAY PARTY!!!!!!!!!!

Jack  was at the party this morning- he imagined what it would have been like to be there.

We listened to Winston Churchill on the radio "The world war 2 is over and Great Britain wins." It made me feel happy when I heard the news. The soldiers will be coming home.

VE Day party

Just this morning year 6 acted out a V.E. day party. We started by singing Run Rabbit Run, with some adaptions as we said Run Adolf Run!! Then we sang Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy which was very lively, next we sang in the Quarter Masters Store, which had a waft of cheese!!

After that we danced around the hall to the Conga. Then we each took a cake and a bisciut and also a cup of juice and a couple of minutes later we sang dont sit under the apple tree. The next song we sang was named the White Cliffs Of Dover. We then got more lively and did the Hokey Kokey we were so worn out from this it was all we could do to sing We'll Meet Again!!!

Again we enjoyed this thoughly.

All the cakes and biscuits left over were sold at break and the money was donated to the

Royal British Legion.

Teddies!

6HW started making teddies a few weeks ago. We started by designing it on a sheet of paper, we did it on a template prited out for us, then we did another one and picked our favourite one of the two. We were asked to bring in materials to make the teddies. Lots of people brought material in so we didn't run out at all.

We each cut out of fabric, the template of the teddies. Next we sewed all the features onto the teddies such as eyes, ears and paws It was really hard work but we all got there in the end (after a while!). We then turned the teddies inside out and started sewing them together keeping close to the edge. We had to leave a gap so we could turn it the right way out again.

After we had finished stuffing the teddy through the gap and sewed the small gap up we were allowed to make clothes for the teddy. Some people made jackets and one teddy had a nappy!! (he he) As well as that someone put a blanket on hers and it looked like iggle piggle (from in the night garden)!!!! All the teddies look awesome and all of them have their own character.
It was great fun!! :)

We'll meet again

On Monday afternoon the Rainbow Theatre Company visited Year Six.
They showed us what life was like for an evacuee during the second world war. We acted out the part of evacuees by making a journey to the past. Some of us went to the country and lived with a kind woman. Some went and lived in a grocery store and others got taken back to London and got bombed so we knew what it was like to be in an airraid. A few girls acted as lampost girls. Some young boys acted out being boys pretending to be aeroplanes. Two girls acted out Betty Parkinson's girls who were in charge of putting fires out. All in all it was a FAB day which all of yr 6 enjoyed.
